| Gothams Beaten By Suns, 5-2 | The Los Angeles Suns picked up a win at Wilshire Park, knocking off the New York Gothams, 5-2. Starting pitcher Doc Carver was a big reason why. In 7.2 innings, Carver surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. Whitey Stewart recorded the save, his 8th.
Carver came through for Los Angeles with a 2-run double in the bottom of the fourth. He hit a 2-2 fastball to right field, staking his team to a 4-2 lead.
"Doc gave us a huge shot in the arm," said Los Angeles manager Bill Morrill.
The Suns are now 27-35, while the Gothams fall to 27-35.
