| Cougars Reel In 2-1 Win | Cougars Park was the site of a true pitchers' duel.
The Chicago Cougars got a magnificent performance from pitcher Hank Walker, who muffled the San Francisco offense en route to a tight, 2-1 Cougars win at Cougars Park. In 6 innings, Walker surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 1. He allowed no runs. Arch Wilson nailed down his 4th save.
Making an impact for the home team was Stan Czerwinski. In the bottom of the seventh, the 27-year old catcher had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. That made the score 2-0, Cougars.
"We just didn't score enough runs to win," said San Francisco manager Walt Zecher.
The Cougars improved their record to 18-24 by beating San Francisco.
