With Late Score, Chiefs Beat Eagles
The inspired effort of Washington first baseman Bill Bose was not enough to prevent a loss, 5-4, to the Chicago Chiefs. Bose went 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Jack Beckwith was the winner. He's now 3-4. The loser was 32-year old right-handed pitcher Bert Behrendt. Mike Pratt earned his 8th save, after closing out the game.

An inflection point occurred with two out in the bottom of the eighth. That's when Chiefs first baseman Sam Harris hit a fastball from Bert Behrendt for a 2-run single. Just like that, Chicago was up, 5-4.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Harris said.

The second-place Chiefs have won 4 in a row.
