| Beavers Get One-Run Win at Chicago | Starting pitcher Amos Brantley pitched well enough to help the Toronto Beavers beat the Chicago Blues, 4-3. Jon Matthews was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 17 of 21 save opportunities. The winning streak has now reached 5 games for the Beavers.
Had Jim Bouldin not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Bouldin hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Beavers.
Brantley told a Toronto Times reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
