The Portland Green Sox beat the San Francisco Hawks, 9-2, at Porter Stadium. Hub Parks, in particular, was impressive. He went 2 for 5 with a home run. He drove in 6 runs and scored once. With Portland leading 1-0 in the bottom of the first, Parks hit a cutter from Maurice Russell for a grand slam home run. It was his 11th home run of the season and put the Green Sox ahead, 5-0.
