| Pioneers Turn Back Minneapolis, 2-1 | Pitcher Billy Hasson was sensational for the St. Louis Pioneers in his team's 2-1 triumph over the Minneapolis Millers. Hasson picked up the win, and it was well-earned. John Gibson notched his 10th save in 14 chances. St. Louis leads the Federal Association by 8 games.
St. Louis used a timely hit from Hal Mazur to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Pioneers ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a difference-maker.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said St. Louis skipper Lou Ormsby. "I can't complain."
