| Philadelphia Decked, 5-3, by Gothams | Rich Peterson impressed in the 5-3 New York win over Philadelphia. Peterson went 2-3 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Jeff Pettigrew, who finished 2nd in the FA in saves with 17 in 1973, nailed down the save. The Keystones drop to 11-12 and continue their mediocre start to the 1975 season.
Peterson had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a full count slider from Doc Carver, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Gothams a 5-3 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Peterson.
New York manager Charlie Foley commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort." | |
