| Gothams Prevail, 1-0, in 12 Innings | In a close contest featuring the New York Gothams and the Brooklyn Kings, pitcher Charles Heim was in the zone. The New York right-hander helped his team prevail, 1-0, in 12 innings. The Federal League-leading Gothams have a record of 77-60.
The decisive blow was delivered by Freddie McKenna in the bottom of the 12th when he hit a run-scoring double off 28-year old right-handed pitcher Jack Spader to win the game for New York. The home crowd went nuts.
"The game of baseball will test you," said Bob Kuhl, the New York skipper. "This one tested us."
