Cougars Rally For Late Win Over Foresters | Chicago Cougars pitcher Don Griffin was in top form, leading his team past the Cleveland Foresters, 5-0. Chicago, now 16-17, holds down 6th place in the Continental Association.
The result might have been different, had it not been for 25-year old third baseman George McKee. McKee had a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Cougars ahead, 2-0. For the game, McKee had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Jim Whitehead. | |
