| Foresters Handle Kings, Nab 5-0 Win | Charlie Sawyer imposed his will on the Kings from the get-go. Relying mainly on his sinker, the right-hander spearheaded the 5-0 Cleveland triumph. The winning pitcher was Sawyer, now 1-1. He tossed 6.2 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 7. The loss makes Seattle 17-10.
Athan Metrofanis dealt the Kings a blow in the bottom of the fifth. Batting with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Cleveland leading 1-0, Metrofanis, who is tied for 7th in the CA in doubles with 6, hit a 1-0 slider for a 2-run single.
"Charlie showed what he's made of," said Cleveland manager Ray Parsons. | |
