Minutemen Top Keystones, 6-5 | The Philadelphia Keystones got a whale of a performance from left fielder Jeep Erickson, but the Boston Minutemen still prevailed, 6-5, in 10 innings. Erickson went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Boston reliever Steve Talley picked up the win to move to 1-0. Sam Ivey suffered the loss. Picking up the save was Ed Morris, his 1st.
The game was at a stalemate until third baseman Pat Todd came to bat in the top of the tenth. Facing Philadelphia pitcher Sam Ivey, he hit a 1-2 curveball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Boston on top, 6-5.
"It's a satisfying feeling, to win like we did," said Todd.
The Minutemen go to 28-34, putting them 6th in the Federal Association. | |
