| Eagles Top Gothams, 4-3 | The Washington Eagles did just enough to nip the New York Gothams, 4-3, in 17 innings. Washington pitcher Gary Nadreau, in particular, had a standout performance. The victory puts Washington at 52-78.
The Eagles got a clutch hit from right fielder Bill McLaughlin. In the bottom of the 17th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Eagles.
"It was terrific getting this win," Nadreau said. "We put in a lot of work to do it."
