| Washington Beats Chicago as Ball Throws 2-0 Shutout | A favor to his bullpen. That's what Bob Ball was doing at Whitney Park, as he blanked the Chicago Chiefs, 2-0.
"I went out there to try to eat up innings and help out our bullpen," the Washington Eagles right-hander said later. "I felt I had my good stuff, and it turned out my command was solid."
Ball notched 5 strikeouts, surrendered no walks, allowed 3 hits, and kept the bullpen phone quiet all day long.
