Keystones Need Extra Frames to Get Past Dynamos | The Philadelphia Keystones racked up a win at Thompson Field, bumping off the Detroit Dynamos, 5-4, in 11 innings. Jim Elliott, who started for Philadelphia, pitched effectively for his team. With the win, Philadelphia raised its record to 19-15.
The result might have been different, had it not been for three-time Whitney Award winner Buddy Miller. Miller had a 2-run double in the top of the 11th inning to put the Keystones ahead, 5-3. For the game, Miller had 1 double and 1 single in 6 at-bats.
"I like to keep things lively in the clubhouse," said Miller. "Believe me, it's much easier after a win." | |
