| Kings Stay Hot With 4-2 Win | Riding the 2-hit performance of the fan favorite Fred Tollefson, the Seattle Kings stopped the Chicago Cougars, 4-2. Gus Tropeano was the winner in relief. His record is now 3-0. The losing pitcher was Bob Goldman. Billy Collins sewed up the save, his 7th.
Ben Baker, who finished 4th in the FA in hits with 183 in 1967, had a direct impact on the outcome. Baker contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the first inning to put Seattle up, 2-0.
"When you're winning, you walk a little taller," said Kings manager Alex Watt.
Seattle, now 17-10, has played well in the early going. | |
