Beacons Stumble, Losing to Stars, 5-4
New York shortstop Alex Harris was a significant contributor in his team's 5-4 triumph over the Boston Beacons. He went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Stars. Joe Perez, who went 7 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 6 hits, while walking 4 and striking out 1. His record now stands at 18-7. With the win, the Stars sit at 76-55.

New York used a well-timed hit by Joe Roberts to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Stars ahead, 4-2. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"This was a nice win for us," said Roberts. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."
