| Imperials Rally to Nose Past Milwaukee | Starting pitcher Jim White gave the New York Imperials a rock-solid performance, helping his team defeat the Milwaukee Arrows, 3-2, at Lakefront Park. The winning pitcher was White, now 5-0. He tossed 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 4. Ed Cooper sewed up the save, his 5th.
New York used the timely hitting of Jack Peeples to seize the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Imperials on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Glad to go home with a win," said Peeples.
The win gives New York a record of 13-11. | |
