Hugh Schneider, now 6-3, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 0 and walking 0. San Francisco raised its record to 38-34 with the win.
McGuckin had an impressive at-bat with the game on the line. In the top of the ninth, with the bases loaded, he hit a 1-0 slider from Mac Watters for a bases-clearing triple. Just like that, the Hawks took the lead, 5-4.
"We'll enjoy this win," said McGuckin. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
