| Gothams Run Win Streak to 6 | Spirited fans greeted the Brooklyn Kings for their clash with the New York Gothams.
The New York Gothams beat the Brooklyn Kings, 5-1. New York pitcher and New York, native Glenn Lantz led the way. Lantz picked up the win for New York, going 8 innings. He gave up 1 run on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 15-13.
Ron Thiel was 2-3 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for New York. The 28-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the third. With no one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring single off Charles Powell. It was his 109th hit of the season.
"I went out and just tried to do my job," said Lantz.
