| Conquistadors Lose, 6-2, at Knights Stadium | Los Angeles Knights starter Steve Noel hurled his team past the San Diego Conquistadors, 6-2. The Knights, at 32-35, sit in 5th place in the Great Western League.
Jim Hatfield dealt the Conquistadors a blow in the bottom of the fifth. Batting with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Los Angeles leading 1-0, Hatfield, who finished 3rd in the GWL in stolen bases with 19 in 1946, hit a first pitch changeup for a 2-run single.
"Steve just went about his business, throwing strikes," said Los Angeles manager Ed Ziehl.
