Oakland right fielder Don Miller had a 4-RBI performance, which helped his team down the Portland Green Sox, 8-7. The winner was Bill Douglass in relief. His record improves to 2-4. Tom Williams took the loss. Oakland now has a 3-game win streak.

Spud Bent was the walk-off hero for Oakland. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Grays third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.
