| Toronto Crafts 3-1 Win | Riverside Stadium II was the site of a competitive game between the New York Stars and Toronto Beavers.
New York got a terrific performance from pitcher Ray Cox, but it wasn't enough to beat the Toronto Beavers. Toronto won the Riverside Stadium II contest, 3-1. Cox threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. The victory gives Toronto a record of 65-59.
Toronto used the timely hitting of Harry Canfield to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Beavers on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"Anyone who says he's not out there thinking about personal accomplishments is not telling the truth," Canfield said later.
