Centurions Come Back Late to Top Conquistadors, 3-1
The Dallas Centurions got a stellar performance from pitcher Ira Hawker, who handcuffed the San Diego offense en route to a win, 3-1, at Langley Field. Dallas now sits in third place in the Great Western League at 30-32.

Dallas used a clutch hit from Al Gross to get the win. The second baseman drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Centurions ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Gross told the Dallas Times.
