St. Louis Beaten, 6-3, by Philadelphia
Thanks in large part to third baseman Bob Foust, the Philadelphia Keystones beat the St. Louis Pioneers, 6-3. Foust went 2 for 4 with a double and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Philadelphia pitcher Ray Smith earned the win, hiking his record to 5-5. Mike Nipp suffered the loss. With the win, Philadelphia raised its record to 65-56.

Foust had a game-changing double in the top of the eighth. On a 0-2 fastball from Mike Nipp, he banged a 2-run double to left-center, giving the Keystones a 5-3 lead. It was the 22nd double of the year for Foust.

Philadelphia manager Dusty Morris called it "a pretty good win."
