| Lancers Down Mechanics, 6-5 | Detroit beat Pittsburgh at Thompson Field, escaping with a 6-5 win. The win in large part was due to third baseman Guy Decker. He went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. After today's action, Detroit sits at 60-61; Pittsburgh slips to 60-61.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Detroit second baseman Wayne Bernhart, facing Leo Hills, had a run-scoring ground out. It gave the Lancers the 6-5 win.
"We found a way to get it done," Decker said.
