The timely hitting of Arnold Britton helped the Baltimore Cannons down the Cleveland Grays, 5-2. Britton was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Cannons. Baltimore reliever Arthur Boswell was the winner. His record is now 8-7. Frank Howard took the loss. Baltimore is now 51-70, while Cleveland is 59-67.

The game was decided with two out in the bottom of the ninth. With Baltimore trailing 2-1, Britton jumped on a curveball from 34-year old left-handed pitcher Frank Howard and hit a grand slam home run to right. With one swing, the Cannons had a walk-off win.

Britton called the win "a team effort."
