| Grays Need Extra Innings to Top Stars, 6-3 | Getting offensive support from Bob Albertson, the Cleveland Grays topped the New York Stars, 6-3. Albertson was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Grays. Frank Howard snagged the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits over 1.2 innings. He's now 6-7 on the season. Earning the save was Martin Raulerson. He's now cashed in 3 of 5 save opportunities.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the tenth, with the game tied, Chick Cirrincione was at the plate when Cleveland scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Grays to go in front, 4-3.
"Our approach was just to try to see something over the plate and be aggressive," Albertson told the Cleveland Today.
Cleveland goes to 59-66, New York to 70-52.
