Jackson Batters Boston for 5 Hits
Mike Jackson knows as well as anyone that in baseball, the biggest contracts go to the biggest hitters. At Cocker Park, he made his case to be considered among that group.

The 38-year-old left fielder hammered 5 hits in 8 chances, though the remarkable effort came even as his Pittsburgh Mechanics fell, 7-5, to the Boston Beacons.

"We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," Beacons manager Abel Prescott told BNN sportswriters after the game. "Thankfully, we were able to do enough elsewhere that Jackson wasn't the difference."

Mike Jackson grounded out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th, struck out in the 9th, singled in the 12th, flied out in the 13th and singled in the 16th.


This season in 38 games, Jackson is batting .341 with no home runs, 13 RBIs and has scored 15 times.
