Bulls Walk It Off for 37th Win of Season
The Portland Green Sox got a superb performance from pitcher Roy Montgomery. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Houston. The Bulls won the game, 8-6. Montgomery threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball. Jim Bob Jones, now 1-4, was credited with the win. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 0. The Bulls lead the Great Western League by 5 games.

The game ended with a bang. In the bottom of the ninth, with Houston trailing 6-5, Bobby Benjamin jumped on a 1-1 sinker from Herb White for a 3-run home run, sending the Bulls to a walk-off win.

"Our guys are never satisfied," said Houston manager Jerry Wilcher.
