Eagles Capture 5-1 Win at Parc Dumfries
Washington turned a good effort from starter Bob Easton into a win over the Montreal Saints at Parc Dumfries. The final score was 5-1. The winner was Easton. He threw 8.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The loser was Tom Schwanke. The Eagles improved their record to 48-65 by beating Montreal.

Washington used the hitting of Bill McLaughlin to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Eagles on top, 4-0. For the game, McLaughlin had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

Said losing manager Jim Jenkins: "It's very easy to sit in an ivory tower and critique the pitching, but the bottom line is we need to score runs."
