| Chicago Gets 4-2 Win | The Chicago Blues picked up a win at Timmons Park, knocking off the Baltimore Cannons, 4-2. On the mound for Chicago was right-hander Russ Hoover. He played a key role in the triumph. Hoover, who leads the UL in complete games with 24, went the distance for Chicago. He gave up 2 runs on 8 hits. The Blues now have a record of 56-60 with the win over Baltimore.
Charlie Shanafelt, who is tied for 5th in the UL in home runs with 4, helped out the Chicago cause in the top of the seventh inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the third baseman drew 1 walk in 5 trips to the plate. He drove in 2 runs.
Hoover told the Chicago Citizen: "I was born for the big stage."
