Brooklyn Beats Montreal as Austin Throws 1-0 Shutout
Bill Austin led the Brooklyn Kings to a shutout victory, 1-0, over the Montreal Saints at Kings County Park.

"My pitching coach told me before the game just to bear down and focus," Austin recalled later. "He said no one was going to hit me if I'm throwing a good breaking ball with good location."

Austin yielded 3 hits and had no strikeouts and 1 walk in the standout performance.

"I thought he put the ball where he wanted to," Montreal manager Levi Melton said. "And that's just about the whole secret to pitching."

This season, Austin has compiled a 15-17 mark with a 2.83 ERA.
