In an outstanding outing, Pittsburgh Mechanics starter Robert Mitchell tamed the Toronto Beavers with a 5-hit shutout at Maumee Park II. The Pittsburgh hurler went the distance, finishing with 10 strikeouts and 2 walks in the 1-0 win.

"He had a lot of first-pitch strikes and kept us off balance with a lot of off-speed stuff," according to Toronto manager Máximo Rios. "We just didn't get too many balls squared up today."
