Seattle Draws Blanks Against Whetzel | The Seattle Thunderbirds ran into a buzzsaw at Bulls Stadium today as Houston Bulls starter Ed Whetzel cut them down to size, 1-0, tossing a 4-hit shutout.
"That's one thing that has never changed in this game -- pitching can control hitting," Bulls manager Jerry Wilcher told reporters after the game. "Ed knows exactly what he's doing. He's not going to throw you a good pitch until you make him throw one."
In the complete game win, the Houston hurler doled out 1 walk and registered 9 strikeouts.
This season Whetzel has compiled a 5-3 mark with a 2.90 ERA. | |
