| Centurions Shut Out Conquistadors, 2-0 | In a low-scoring affair between the Dallas Centurions and the San Diego Conquistadors, pitcher George Rotondi was the difference between victory and defeat. The Dallas right-hander earned accolades in the 2-0 Centurions win. In 8.1 innings, Rotondi surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 1. He allowed no runs. Mac Watters was credited with the save for Dallas, his 3rd of the season.
Dallas used a well-timed hit by Lou Hofmeister to capture the win. The shortstop socked a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Centurions ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Dallas manager Brooks Meeks.
Dallas is 18-19 and San Diego, with the loss, 15-21.
