The Chicago Blues and Boston Beacons completed their game despite the rain.

The Chicago Blues converted a terrific effort from starter Larry Bohnsack into a win over the Boston Beacons at Thorvald Park. The Blues won the game by a final score of 5-1. In 7 innings, Bohnsack surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run.

A crucial at-bat came with the bases empty and no one out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when left fielder Bob Wojtkiewicz, who is tied for 9th in the UL in extra base hits with 27, hit a triple. The Blues went on to win.

Chicago manager Mike Dermer praised his team's "businesslike approach."

The slumping Beacons have lost 6 straight.
