Gothams Pull Off Thrilling 5-3 Win in Extras
The Montreal Saints could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Dick Dean into a win. Instead, the New York Gothams prevailed, 5-3, in 13 innings. Dean threw 12.0 innings of 7-hit ball. The winning streak has now reached 7 games for New York.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Jim Salter? The 37-year old left fielder Salter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the 13th inning to put New York up, 4-3. For the game, he was 2 for 6, including 1 double and 1 single.
