Beacons Stumble, Losing to Blues, 9-1
The Chicago Blues pinned a convincing loss on the Boston Beacons, 9-1, at Thorvald Park. Henry Sander was a main factor in the win. He went 3 for 3 with 3 singles and was hit by a pitch. He scored 3 times for Chicago. The current losing streak for Boston has reached 4 games.

Charlie Shanafelt had a big 2-run double for the Blues in the bottom of the second inning. With Chicago leading 3-0 and the bases loaded, he got a sinker from Austin Mayer, who leads the UL in wins with 16, and swatted a double to right. It was his 14th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Blues ahead, 5-0.

"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Shanafelt.
