Mechanics Take Tight Tangle
Pittsburgh Mechanics starter Leroy Budimir hurled his team past the Baltimore Cannons, 3-2. Pittsburgh is now 52-52, Baltimore 43-61.

The game was at a stalemate until left fielder Mike Jackson came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Baltimore pitcher Jesse Johnson, he hit a 0-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Pittsburgh on top, 3-2.

"Every loss stings," said Baltimore manager Monty Beatson. "This one is no exception."
