| Gothams Win, 3-1, Versus Montreal | Jack Pette pitched a gem to lead New York to victory over the Montreal Saints, 3-1. Pette yielded 1 run over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 3. His record improves to 8-5. Fred Turk was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 7 of 7 save opportunities.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the eighth, with the game tied, Freddie McKenna was at the plate when New York scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Gothams to go in front, 2-1.
"Thought I threw pretty well and overall I felt good," said Pette.
The New York winning streak has reached 3 games.
