| Stars Suffer 6-1 Loss to Saints | Los Angeles had no answer for Montreal Saints hurler Hal Bennett, who overwhelmed Stars hitters as the Saints coasted to victory, 6-1. The Saints are off to a nightmare start as they look to defend their championship, notching only their 7th win in 23 games.
Mike Matton helped out the Montreal cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the left fielder was 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk.
Matton told the Montreal Gazette: "I was born for the big stage."
