Pioneers Rough Up Minutemen, 10-3 | St. Louis third baseman Steve Schultz had 5 ribbies while helping his team defeat the Boston Minutemen, 10-3. Charlie Blake got the win, improving to 2-2. He pitched 8 innings, giving up 8 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 9 and walking 3. Early on, the Pioneers, at 19-6, have excelled.
With St. Louis leading 7-3 in the top of the ninth, Schultz batted against Boston pitcher Eddie Fox. Schultz hit a changeup to right for a 3-run home run. His 8th home run of the season put the Pioneers on top, 10-3.
