| With 4-3 Win, Suns Improve to 16-8 | The Los Angeles Suns defeated the New York Gothams, 4-3, at Wilshire Park. Ed Mooney, who is tied for 9th in the FA in RBI with 16, was a standout performer for Los Angeles. His 3 hits included 2 singles and 1 double -- this in addition to the 2 runs he scored and 1 he knocked in. Los Angeles starter Pete Meissner was credited with the win after throwing 100 pitches over 7 innings. His record now stands at 4-2. Ron Clark recorded the save, his 3rd.
Los Angeles shortstop Tom Lally helped the Suns go up, 4-3, in the bottom of the seventh inning. With the game tied, Lally hit a run-scoring single off New York pitcher Bunny Mullins.
"I still think this team can play even better," Mooney told the Los Angeles Chronicle.
