| Baltimore Downs New York, 5-1 | Max Reed brought his A-game to help Baltimore defeat the New York Gothams, 5-1. Reed, now 1-1, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 4, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. The Gothams fall to 8-13 and continue their lackluster start to the 1975 season.
Though it wasn't a flawless game -- few are -- the fans who filled the stands at Patapsco Field seemed to enjoy watching the Federal Association action.
"Max gets tougher when he has to, makes a big pitch when he has to," said Baltimore skipper Hank Luckenbaugh.
