| Cannons Bridle Foresters, 3-2 | Cincinnati Cannons starter Jim York hurled his team past the Cleveland Foresters, 3-2. Paul Williams collected save number 1. Cincinnati, now 11-17, is off to a slow start.
Babe Booth had a big 2-run home run for the Cannons in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Cincinnati leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a changeup from Adrian Czerwinski, who led the CA in wins with 23 in 1953, and punished it. The result was his 2nd home run of the season, which put the Cannons on top, 3-0.
"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said York.
