Pittsburgh Sent Home with 7-4 Loss
John Hamilton was a major contributor to the 7-4 Detroit win over Pittsburgh. The Lancers second baseman was 4-5 with a triple and 3 singles, while scoring 2 times. Picking up the save was Red Saalman, his 1st. The win puts Detroit at 13-20.

Hamilton had a game-changing triple in the bottom of the eighth. On a first pitch curveball from Randy Boroughs, he banged a run-scoring triple to right-center, giving the Lancers a 5-4 lead. It was the 1st triple of the year for Hamilton.

"It was sure nice to get the win but there's a lot of baseball left," Hamilton after the game.
