| Clark Shackles Chicago | Al Clark of the Boston Beacons shut out the Chicago Blues, 1-0, at Thorvald Park, holding them to 4 hits with no walks and 4 strikeouts.
Pressed for comments on his club's defeat, Chicago skipper Mike Dermer called the outing from Clark "a jewel."
"The way Clark was pitching, it would have been tough for anyone to beat him," he said.
