Dallas Wins, Jackson has 3 hits today | Dallas left fielder Birdie Jackson helped his team beat the Seattle Thunderbirds, 8-3. Jackson, who finished 4th in the GWL in home runs with 14 last year, went 3 for 3 for the Centurions. The save was credited to Tom Figueiredo, his 1st. The Thunderbirds, now 8-14, continue their poor start.
Dallas relied on the hitting of Earl Kimmel to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Centurions on top, 5-0. For the game, Kimmel had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"We'll put that win in the can," said Kimmel, "and go after the next one." | |
