Centurions Sneak Past Hawks, 2-1 | The Dallas Centurions did just enough to secure a victory over the San Francisco Hawks, 2-1, at Centurions Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher George Hunter. Dallas reliever Mac Watters got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Robby Grand was tagged with the loss. The win puts Dallas at 10-9.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 11th inning, when Dallas shortstop Art Fifield, facing Robby Grand, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Centurions the 2-1 win.
"This place went bonkers at the end," Fifield said. | |
