Bulls Stadium was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Portland Green Sox and Houston Bulls.

Portland second baseman Johnny Guzzo played a vital role in his team's 6-5 triumph over Houston. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Portland. Portland reliever Johnny Kretzschmar picked up the win, while Dan Rivard took the loss for Houston.

Contributing to the Portland win was Jim Beard. In the top of the sixth, the 36-year old third baseman had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. That made the score 6-5, the Green Sox in front.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Beard said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."

With the win, Portland lifts its record to 7-10.
