| Los Angeles Beats Houston, 5-2 | The inspired effort of Houston second baseman Maury Moore was not enough to prevent a loss, 5-2, to the Los Angeles Suns. Moore was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Gary Preston collected his 1st save. With the loss, Houston falls to 2-1.
Los Angeles second baseman Adolph Young contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fourth. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 3rd hit of the season and put the Suns ahead, 2-0.
"The other side took advantage in some key situations," said Houston manager Glenn Carney.
