| Gothams Bag 3-1 Win | The New York Gothams got great pitching from 33-year old right-handed pitcher Harry Hayward, allowing them to bump off the Houston Comets, 3-1. The win gives the Gothams a record of 11-10.
Hayward had a key at-bat in the top of the fourth to put New York in front, 2-0. With the bases loaded, he hit a sacrifice fly off Houston pitcher Joe McCarthy.
"I went out and just tried to do my job," said Hayward. | |
