| Rieman Blanks Chicago, 10-0 | Before the game, Lou Rieman said he liked his chances. His instincts proved to be right. In a superb outing at Broad Street Park, the Keystones pitcher blanked the Chicago Chiefs, 10-0.
"I just had a feeling it was going to be my day," Rieman said in the clubhouse afterward. "My control was awesome. I could throw my changeup even when I was behind in the count."
The Philadelphia starter held Chicago scoreless, giving up 3 hits while registering 2 strikeouts and issuing 1 walk.
"We didn't have very many good at-bats," Chiefs manager Willie Cadden said in a postgame interview. "When that happens, you usually lose."
On the year, Rieman has compiled a 2-2 mark with a 1.35 ERA. | |
