Washington right fielder Ed MacNaughton contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With two down, he hit a cutter to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 21st hit of the season and put the Eagles ahead, 4-2.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," MacNaughton told a Washington Today reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
