The timely hitting of Chuck Draper helped the Pittsburgh Miners down the Minneapolis Millers, 7-3. Draper was 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Miners. The second-place Miners have won 5 consecutive games.

Dixie Turner had a big 2-run double for the Miners in the bottom of the second inning. With Pittsburgh leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a fastball from 30-year old left-handed pitcher Ed Power and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 16th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Miners ahead, 3-0.

"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Draper.
