| Minutemen Bang Out 6-0 Win Versus Los Angeles | Los Angeles had no answer for Boston Minutemen starter Harry Draper, who flummoxed Suns hitters as the Minutemen cruised to victory, 6-0. Draper got the win, improving to 1-1. He gave up 4 hits and walked 3 over 7 innings. He allowed no runs. Despite the defeat, Los Angeles still has a fine 15-8 record.
Dick Ward drew 2 walks in 5 trips to the plate for Boston. The three-time All-Star had a key at-bat in the top of the fifth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring walk off Gary Preston. It was his 13th walk of the season.
"When I throw strikes I'm good, if I don't I'm not very good," said Draper. "So I just have to throw strikes." | |
