Pioneers Drop Millers, 6-2 | The St. Louis Pioneers picked up a win at Hennepin County Stadium, dropping the Minneapolis Millers, 6-2. Billy Hasson, who led the FA in innings pitched with 256.0 in 1961, was the difference-maker. St. Louis, with the win, is 17-6.
With two out in the top of the eighth, Paul Watson had a game-changing hit. The Pioneers shortstop slammed a run-scoring single off Bobby Crooks, making the score 4-2, St. Louis.
