Big Day for Whisman in 7-0 Miners Win
Pittsburgh left fielder Mike Whisman played a vital role in his team's 7-0 conquest of Minneapolis. He was 4-4 with 3 doubles and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for Pittsburgh. The winning pitcher was Pat Simon. He's now 5-3. He went 8.2 innings, allowing no runs on 6 hits for the Miners. With the victory, the Miners upped their record to 28-22.

In the bottom of the third, Whisman had a 2-run double for Pittsburgh. It was his 9th double of the season and put the Miners on top, 2-0.
