Suns Sunk by Eagles
In a low-scoring contest between the Washington Eagles and the Los Angeles Suns, Owen Lantz, who is the top prospect in the Eagles organization, proved to be the difference. The Washington right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-1 Eagles win. The 7th-place Eagles have a record of 23-29.

The Eagles got a big at-bat from catcher Howdy Oakes. For the game, Oakes went 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Washington a 3-1 lead.

"We busted our tails," said Los Angeles manager Bill Morrill. "But we came up short."
